FAQs

why acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the oldest and dependable forms of medical therapy. It is by nature safe, simple, and effective. Acupuncture uses ultra-thin, sterile, disposable needles that are gently inserted into specific points on the body in order to stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself. Acupuncture reliably and safely decreases pain and inflammation to create a deep feeling of rest, and so much more!

how many treatments will i need?

The number of treatments needed will vary depending on your concerns and your goals. Expect 3-4 treatments at minimum before feeling a significant shift. For new or acute conditions, weekly treatments for the first 4-8 weeks is generally recommended. Some patients will experience profound relief after a single session. Once we are getting closer to your goals, we can space the treatments out to every 2-4 weeks until symptoms have diminished. Monthly or quarterly appointments are often encouraged in order to help the body maintain balance and optimal well-being.

does acupuncture hurt?

Most of the time, you will most likely not even feel the insertion of the needles. Some of the points may prick or sting more than others, but nothing more uncomfortable than the sting of a mosquito bite. If this sensation should occur, it dissipates quickly. I do not intentionally stimulate or manipulate the needles or points without discussing it beforehand and never without consent.
